Meet Maria

Maria Almeida, Senior Healthcare Assistant, has worked at the Practice for more than 20 years.

Since joining the organisation as a receptionist in 2003, she has successfully completed training courses to become a clinical coder, prescribing clerk, and healthcare assistant.

Maria now oversees the processing of around 14,000 prescriptions each month, monitors medication safety, leads the provision of care for 500 care home residents, and runs general nursing clinics.

In keeping with the Practice’s ethos of continuous learning, Maria has recently completed a phlebotomy and cannulation course and is currently undertaking supervised practice in this area.

Over the years, many of our patients have come to know Maria very well. She is always keen to meet new patients and support them on their healthcare journey, so do say hi if you see her around!
