Nurse Sam gains prescribing qualification

In line with our ethos of continuous learning, we encourage all staff to explore educational and development opportunities. Nurse Sam (pictured, left) has recently gained her independent prescribing qualification.

This incredible achievement comes as the result of years of nursing experience, higher education, and exams. Now that Nurse Sam has been approved as an independent prescriber by the Chief Pharmacist for North Central London, she will be able to take responsibility for:

• Clinical assessment of the patient
• Establishing a diagnosis
• Clinical management
• Prescribing
• Relevant follow up, investigations and monitoring

As with all our clinical staff, Nurse Sam will have a clinical supervisor and her work will be subject to regular, as well as random, audit. This ensures we are providing a safe and high quality service for our patients.
